Games that respect your time

Games that respect your time

There's a quiet category of mobile game I've come to love: the ones that let you stop. No energy bar draining, no push notification guilt-tripping you back in. They're rarer than they should be.

Tile Garden is a recent favorite here. It has no energy system, so I ended up playing it more, not less, because it never felt like a chore to return to. Hollow Lantern does the same by simply being short and complete.

I think developers underestimate how much goodwill this earns. A game that trusts me to come back on my own terms is one I actually recommend to friends. The ones that lock me out until I wait or pay get deleted.

When you're browsing for something new, check whether a game has an energy or stamina timer before you download. It tells you a lot about how the game wants to treat you.
