About
PocketPlay started as a group chat where a few of us kept trading screenshots and arguing about whether a game was worth the storage space. At some point we decided to turn those arguments into something readable, so the site was born. Nobody here pretends to be an industry insider — we're just people who play a lot on the train, in waiting rooms, and on the couch.
Every review on the site comes from someone who actually installed the game and gave it real time. We don't copy press releases or paraphrase store descriptions. If a game crashes, drains the battery, or nags you every five minutes, we say so plainly.
We pick games to cover in a simple way: part of the list comes from what's trending, part from reader suggestions, and part from whatever one of us stumbled on and couldn't put down. We try to cover different genres on purpose, because not everyone wants the same thing from a phone game.
The goal is modest. We want you to spend five minutes reading and save yourself an hour of installing something you'd delete anyway. That's it.
