Emberfall Chronicles

★★★★★ 4.6 Editor rating

Emberfall Chronicles is one of the better small-screen RPGs I've played this year. You lead a band of travelers across a dying kingdom, and the writing actually bothers to give everyone a reason to be there. Battles are turn-based, with a clean timeline on the side showing who acts next, which makes planning feel deliberate instead of frantic.

The character growth is where it shines. Each companion learns skills along branching paths, so you can shape your healer into something more offensive if that's your style. I spent way too long fiddling with loadouts before big fights, and I mean that as a compliment.

It's generous with offline progress and the autosave never let me down, even when I force-closed it mid-dungeon. If you want a proper RPG you can dip in and out of on a commute, this is an easy recommendation.
