The joy of adventure games with no fighting

Not every game needs enemies. Some of my favorite mobile hours lately have come from adventure games where you just explore, read, and notice things. Hollow Lantern is the one that reminded me of this.

There's something about a game that trusts you to slow down. You tap around a room, find a letter, and a little more of the story clicks into place. No health bar, no timer, just curiosity pulling you forward.

These games live or die on atmosphere and writing. When they nail both, a short two-hour experience can stick with you longer than a sprawling RPG. When they don't, there's nothing to hide behind.

If you've only played action-heavy games on your phone, try a quiet adventure once. Play it late at night with headphones. It's a completely different kind of good.
